1st Customer Review : Works great with vise
I agree with another reviewer that you should use a vise to press the button kit together.
Along with that; what usually happens with the jeans, is that the rivet head pulls out of the inside flap and in doing so enlarges the hole. Use a washer that is larger than the rivet head to complete the (now) three part assembly, and you don't have to worry about the new button pulling out of the same enlarged hole.

2nd Customer Review : Press these together (no hammer) and it works great
A hammer didn't work. Press these together using a bench vise (use plastic tool as shield on decorative side) and it works great. On thick material, pre punch hole using a basic small nail punch.
Once in, these look and work great.
3rd Customer Review : The perfect man tool for the man that can work a hammer and not a needle!!
I had a couple of shorts that I have seem to lost the main buttons for. Being not the best person with a needle and noticing that I never lost a button from my jeans made me start looking for a way to attach them to my shorts. After looking for actual machines to attach them I happen to stumble upon this product. I must admit I was a little worried that this was so simple it couldn't work to easily. I was wrong! After stumbling a little at first to figure it out the rest seemed to come easy. All you have to do is align the button and stud through the fabric while attaching them to the red clip. Then just smack it with a hammer! That's it! A must have for needle challenged!
